Cabrera’s Pregame Hard Work Pays Off In Indians 3-2 Win

CLEVELAND (92.3 The Fan) – Asdrubal Cabrera spent Tuesday afternoon’s batting practice session trying to hit the ball the other way.

It paid off in a huge way in the 10th inning against the Reds.

With the Indians down 2-1 to the Reds and their closer, hard-throwing Aroldis Chapman, on the mound, Cabrera slammed a two-run homer to right field to send the Indians to a 3-2 win.

The victory was not only bittersweet in that it was against their top NL rival, but it also put them back in first following the Cubs 2-1 win in Chicago over the rival White Sox.

For Cabrera, it was his 7th homer of the season, and his biggest, as it sent the home crowd home happy. Following the game the Tribe shortstop said the last thing on his mind was trying to hit the ball to right.
