Indians Deny Stealing Any Signs From The Reds During Monday’s Game

CLEVELAND (92.3 The Fan) – Less than 24 hours after Reds pitcher Mat Latos accused the Indians of stealing signs in their 10-9 win Monday night, Indians players were asked about the very subject Tuesday.

Third basemen Lonnie Chisenhall said that he wasn’t even aware of what Latos had said, but denied that the Indians had anything to do with sign stealing.

“I’ve been on teams that have stolen signs before, I know we don’t relay signs,” Chisenhall said.

Latos said the Indians were stealing signs from Reds catcher Ryan Hanigan, this after he allowed 7 runs in four innings of the Indians win.

“That was kind of ironic, but we changed up the signs for the last hitter, unfortunately, and the outcome changed when we changed up the signs today,” Latos said Monday night. “Other than that I was just up in the zone.”
