Nearly 30 children from the Boys and Girls Club of Cleveland joined Indians pitcher Vinnie Pestano on the field Monday as a part of the PLAY Campaign.
PLAY (Promoting a Lifetime of Activity for Youth) has traveled to every Major League stadium and recently began holding sessions at Minor League parks. While at Progressive Field, PLAY encouraged kids to eat nutritiously, stay away from steroids, and most importantly, follow their dreams.
“It’s important to know you can be anything you want to be,” Pestano said to a small group of kids sitting on the tarp. “If you want to be an athlete, a schoolteacher, a nurse, you can be anything you want to be.”
