CLEVELAND (92.3 The Fan) – On a night with two long rain delays, the Indians got enough from pitcher Zach McAllister and outhit the Los Angels Angels 9-5 at Progressive Field.
The Tribe offense got to Angels starter Dan Haren for 7 runs, 6 earned on 9 hits in 4.1 innings, while McAllister had one major bump in the road in a five run Angels 5th.
For a short time, the Angels had a 5-4 lead after a huge error by Jack Hannahan opened the door. Mike Trout, leading the AL in average hit a three-run homer to tie the game at four.
Albert Pujols hit a solo homer to give Los Angeles a short-lived 5-4 lead, stunning the Indians until they were able to get back to the plate.
