CLEVELAND (92.3 The Fan) – Travis Hafner is officially back with the Tribe, as today the team made it official, adding him back to the Major League roster.
The move to bring Hafner back involves outfielder Shelley Duncan, who has been hitting the ball well as of late. Duncan isn’t gone though, but will miss the next couple of games as he’s going on paternity leave.
Hafner will be in the lineup today for the Indians vs Ervin Santana and the Angels. He has not played since May 23rd, when he went on the DL after undergoing knee surgery to repair torn meniscus in his right knee.
The Indians went 17-21 without Hafner. Before that, the team had gone 24-18 with him. The 35-year-old in 39 games had hit .242 with 6 homers and 23 RBI.
