Tomlin And Homers Lead Indians To 3-1 Win Over Rays

CLEVELAND (92.3 The Fan) – The Indians went back to their strength Thursday night as they played the Tampa Bay Rays for the first time in the 2012 season.

Led by great starting pitching by Josh Tomlin and the usual stout 1-2 punch of Vinnie Pestano and Chris Perez, the Tribe topped the Rays 3-1.

For the Indians, they have now won 6 of their last 8, and while the bats were more quiet they have been recently, the pitching more than made up for it.

Tomlin (5-5) went seven innings, and gave up just one run on two hits. He didn’t give up a free pass with no walks, and struck out three.

For Tomlin it’s the fourth time season that Tomlin has gone 7 innings or more, and in those four games the Indians are 4-0.
