Indians Stunned By Rays; Perez Blows Save In 7-6 Loss

CLEVELAND (92.3 The Fan) – The Indians first half is officially in the books, and with it the team goes in having suffered one of its toughest losses of the year to date.

Sunday at Progressive Field the Indians had a 5-0 lead entering the 6th and were cruising, only to have the Rays rally and eventually score three in the 9th to stun the Indians 7-6.

The game looked like a runaway for the first five innings as the Indians built the large lead. Tampa closed it to a 5-4 game with four runs in the 6th, and things looked dandy after Shin-Soo Choo homered in the 8th to give the Indians a 6-4 advantage.

Chris Perez strolled out in the 9th, and after a strikeout, he allowed a homer to Will Rhymes i to make it a 6-5 game.
