Indians Top Rays 7-3 Behind Another Good Outing For Jimenez

CLEVELAND (92.3 The Fan) – Even with a number of their starters getting the night off, the Indians got more than enough from the backups and starter Ubaldo Jimenez as they topped the Rays 7-3 Saturday night.

Jimenez continues to impress after a shaky start to the 2012 season. It was his seventh straight solid outing, going six innings, allowing two runs on five hits with a walk and 8 strikeouts.

On the season he improves to 8-7, and his ERA has now dipped to 4.50. His only mistake was in the 4th inning with the Indians already up 5-0 when he gave up a two-run homer to Luke Scott.

Manager Manny Acta gave the night off to starters Jason Kipnis, Casey Kotchman and Travis Hafner. Lou Marson started at catcher, and Aaron Cunningham played left field.
