Perez And Cabrera Have Little Impact For The AL In The All-Star Game

CLEVELAND (92.3 The Fan) – If you were hoping for a big impact from the two Indians playing in Tuesday night’s 83rd Major League Baseball All-Star Game, you probably walked away feeling a bit empty.

Pitcher Chris Perez and shortstop Asdrubal Cabera both were part of the American League, the squad that was flat out beat up by the National League 8-0 in the game.

Both players had little to no impact in the game, with Perez not even getting to take the field. AL manager Ron Washington sent out 9 pitches in the blowout, with Perez not getting a shot to pitch.

It was ironic that the final pitcher for the AL was Fernando Rodney of the Rays. Rodney got his 25th save of the season Sunday after Perez blew the save in the eventual 7-6 loss to Tampa Bay.
