CLEVELAND (92.3 The Fan) – There’s no doubt that the Indians have been scouting the possible trade options of the San Diego Padres, and now reports are the player they may have their eyes on the most is outfielder Carlos Quentin.
Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports that the Tribe, along with the Pirates, and Reds are three of a couple of teams that have made contact with San Diego about Quentin.
SI.com says that the Mets, Marlins and Jays are two other teams that have called about Quentin.
The 29-year-old is hitting .268 this season with San Diego with 7 homers and 17 RBI. Last season with the White Sox he hit 24 homers and drove in 77 runs in 118 games.
