CLEVELAND (92.3 The Fan) – Ubaldo Jimenez looks like he just might be the pitcher the Indians mortgaged the future for after all.
Heading into the All-Star break, Jimenez has an overall record of 8-7, tied with Derek Lowe for the most wins on the team.
In his last six starts, Ubaldo has posted an ERA of 2.74. He’s shaved off over an entire run off his season ERA in the past month.
After six strong outings in a row, Jimenez says he thinks he has worked out all of the mechanical issues he was having earlier in the year.
“Definitely. The thing is, I’ve been able to go out there and pitch well a couple of starts in a row. It’s something that shows I’ve been getting better and better.” Jimenez said.
He credits his ability to command his slider and splitter much better as of late.
