CLEVELAND (92.3 The Fan) – Chris Perez and the Indians blew a shot to end the first half at home with a win over the Rays. Monday night in Tampa, they got a little revenge.

Perez threw a scoreless ninth inning for his 26th save of the season as the Indians ended a short two-game losing streak with a 3-2 win over Tampa.

It was back on July 8th that the Tribe closer gave up three runs in the ninth to stop his 25-game save streak as the Rays spoiled the Indians chance to go into the break with a win streak in a 7-6 win.

Monday night Perez didn’t give up a hit or allow a base runner, as nursing a one-run lead he got a strikeout, ground out to second and another strikeout looking by Hideki Matsui to close out the win.
