Indians Win Huge Game One Of Big Series With Tigers 3-2

CLEVELAND (92.3 The Fan) – Just when you want to count the Indians out for the 2012 season, they seem to always pull you back in again.

That was the case Tuesday night at Progressive Field, as 23,367 watched the Indians gut out a basic must win over the Tigers, winning 3-2.

The winning run scored in what could only be considered shocking fashion after the Tigers tied the game in the 7th inning on a Miguel Cabrera two-run bomb.

With one out, Travis Hafner hit a gap shot that got between two Tigers outfielders, and he galloped all the way to third with a sliding triple.

He was lifted for pinch-runner Lou Marson, with Aaron Cunningham at the plate. Cunningham laid down a perfect squeeze bunt, and with Marson racing home, he scored with a slide to make it 3-2.
